Websites: Detective Thinking
Here are a few websites to practice your detective thinking skills.
CSI games from PBS – Think you have the makings to become a crime scene investigator? Then check out the CSI games at PBS. Scroll about midway down the page to play CSI: Hat Snatcher, CSI: Tugboat Thug or CSI: Sneak Squeak. By the way, these games are a blast. You collect clues and analyze them. You must wait for results as you send clues off to be processed in a “lab.” You have several suspects to choose from. Just remember that in detective thinking (deductive reasoning) to not jump to conclusions. Also there is always only one right answer. Good luck playing this game.
Mysteriez! – WARNING do not play this game unless you have lots of time. It is addicting. Mysteriez challenges your observation skills. You search different rooms for numbers. The numbers are hidden in the picture. Some numbers you’ll find quickly. Other numbers will require you to slowly and carefully use your magnifying glass to find them. You’ll become a great observer playing this game.
Eye Spy – This online eye spy
Guess the Year – This detective game is for older children, 10 and up. You search a box of clues to guess the year. There is a code detector to give you additional clues. You’ll need to search it to guess the correct answer. Advanced reading skills are needed to play this game.
The Effective Detective – Join Arthur
What's in the Bag - This Read, Write,Think games gives clues to what is in the bag. Use the clues to solve the mystery and guess what's in the bag. This is a great detective thinking and reading game for 6-8 year olds.
